Inclusive Pathways Therapy
Affirming therapy for teens, adults, and couples
Falls Church, VA
Hi, I’m Laura!
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and I opened Inclusive Pathways Therapy to create a space for neurodiversity-affirming therapy and deep trauma healing.
I am passionate about therapy that considers the whole person and their lived experience.
I would be honored to work with you.
Meet Laura
I help neurodivergent teens, adults, and couples make sense of their experiences, build self-compassion, and create a life more aligned with their values and needs. My office and my approach are designed to accommodate different nervous system needs.
It was master therapist, Irvin Yalom who said “It is the relationship that heals.” Many of us try to handle everything on our own, often because we’ve been hurt or let down before.
We’re not meant to do it alone.
As a therapist, my first job is to meet you with empathy. I won’t rush you.
If you’re neurodivergent (diagnosed, self-identified, or questioning), I see you and believe you.
If you’re a parent doing your best with your struggling teen, I see you and believe you.
If you’re trying to make sense or heal from past wounds and trauma, I see you and believe you.
If you’re gay, lesbian, trans, non-binary, gender fluid, queer, or exploring your gender and/or sexual orientation, I see you and believe you.
If you’ve tried therapy before, and it hasn’t helped, I see you and believe you.
Let’s start by understanding and making sense of your experience and what you want more of (not just less of).
I’ll walk into it with you.
I bring evidenced-based practices and a relational, accommodating approach. My clients come from all backgrounds and experiences. Many of my clients are neurodivergent (e.g. autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, dyslexic, etc.), many are LGBTQIA+, and many have experienced childhood trauma.
I am neurodivergent, and I approach my clients with a neurodiversity-affirming lens in all the work I do. This means I don’t view neurodiversity as pathological or something to be fixed. I treat every client as an individual and avoid making assumptions. I believe humans are meant to exist in many, many ways. There is no one right way to do this life, and there is no one right way to do therapy.
My approach helps support healing from a body and feelings level, rather than cognitively or intellectually only. I integrate and adapt multiple approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (attachment-based therapy), Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (“parts work”), and mindfulness skills.
I would be honored to work with you.
